Next Door’s Baby – A New Musical
As well as writing her novels, Bernadette has been working on a new stage musical, with her husband, Matthew. Next Door’s Baby is adapted from her radio play of the same title. Set in 1950's Dublin, it tells the tale of neighbouring families, whose petty rivalry over a newspaper baby competition, exposes long-buried family secrets.

A workshop performance was given at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond in 2006. A cast album is planned for Summer 2007.
